Why does the order of a fintech signup form matter? Behavioral scientists call it the foot-in-the-door technique. @suzannekirky points to research going back to 1966 which found that people who agree to a small request first are more likely to agree to a larger one afterwards. For fintech onboarding, that means name and email first. Bank logins and SSNs later. Better sequencing can mean better conversion.
