When we claimed http://AffiliateNichesites.com we didn't know it was already a website in the past. @gloverbuilds hit the wayback machine and found the old, dead links and redirected them. Now we have 700+ backlinks. Not sure what benefit it's added. Still not getting much organic traffic yet.
